Expressions of Interest Sought from Potential Tenants for new Wilcannia Commercial Development
The Central Darling Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest from potential tenants in a proposed new landmark commercial development for Wilcannia. We are looking for businesses or agencies willing to commit to floorspace in a new building in a prime location. The development offers prospective business or agency tenants prime highway frontage and a significant presence in Wilcannia, where interest in projects to stimulate economic and cultural life in the outback town is growing. The development is at an advanced planning stage and already has the commitment of one anchor tenant, requiring only one additional committed tenant before proceeding. The project would create employment for up to 20 local residents and bring a range of other spin-off benefits. Wilcannia is clearly on the way up, and a commitment to this development could be just the spur needed to kick start a number of other projects currently on the table. Wilcannia’s Indigenous community is renowned for the vibrancy of its artwork and our town’s unique history offers tourism potential. We are looking closely at a number of proposals that link our riverside location, built heritage and local artistic output in ways that create economic opportunities for local residents. If you are interested then please contact Mr Tim Hazell or Mr Kym Fuller at the Central Darling Shire Council on 08 8083 8900.
