Outback Theatre for Young People

Outback Theatre for Young People (OTYP) in partnership with TRAX and West darling Arts has developed a theatre-focused multi-arts project based in Ivanhoe, NSW, in 2009 and 2010.

The Ivanhoe project is aimed at injecting diversity and creative opportunities into a town that is suffering from the prolonged effect of the drought. The project aims to boost the morale and resilience of young people as they bring alive the abandoned shop fronts on the main street of Ivanhoe and transform them into performance spaces.

The project spans four elements;

  • Creation and construction of Storybooth
  • Creative development and live performance formation
  • Works from workshops to be performed or installed regularly in empty shop fronts
  • Digi Bridge Live performance production and live broadcast to other communities.
