COMMUNITY PLANNING STARTS WITH SURVEY

9 February 2021

Residents of Central Darling Shire Council are being encouraged to participate in a Community Survey, soon to be distributed.

The survey will set the starting point for Council’s community planning sessions, which will begin in March.

The community planning sessions, which will include workshops, meetings and other participation activities, will develop plans to guide Central Darling Shire Council communities into the future.

Included in a suite of plans to be developed are:
• A revised Community Strategic Plan
• An improvement plan for each of the Shire’s towns and villages
• An Advocacy Plan
• A Tourism Destination Plan

Central Darling Shire Council General Manager, Greg Hill, said the finished plans will provide Council with clear long-term goals and priorities for the Shire and its communities.

“All of these plans will be based largely on the thoughts and ideas of our communities,” Mr Hill said.

“For this reason, we need your feedback about what’s important to you in your community and in the Shire, what you’d like to see changed and improved, what issues need to be addressed and how we can further develop tourism across the Shire.”

The surveys will be distributed throughout the Shire and can be downloaded from Council’s website: www.centraldarling.nsw.gov.au/community_planning
