Photo comp to capture soul of region

Residents and visitors to Central Darling Shire are being invited to submit their favourite photos of the region to the My Shire In My Eyes photo competition.

The competition is being held to provide Council with a stockpile of photos that are representative of the region and reflect the Shire as our residents see it.

Central Darling Shire General Manager, Greg Hill, said the competition will give locals the opportunity to showcase their corner of the Shire to the wider community.

“Council is regularly looking for photographs to promote the area through publications, on the website, through social media and in government reporting,” Mr Hill said.

“This competition will give us the ability to capture the uniqueness of our region as our locals see it.

“Too many times, organisations bring on board professional contractors who do a fantastic job, but aren’t always able to capture the soul of a region.

“This will give local people the chance to show the world what we truly have.”

Competition entry forms and guidelines are available from Council’s website. Submissions are now welcome, will be accepted until Friday, 28 May 2021 and should be taken over the previous 12 months. Prizes for first second and third in both adult and child sections will be awarded, and all submissions will become the property of Council to be used in promotional material.
