Barrier Highway Road closure update

The Barrier Highway between Wilcannia and Broken Hill remains closed to all traffic. A water diversion trench was completed yesterday. The water level is currently at about 850 mm, which is down from over a metre. The water is moving away but it is a slow process. Due to the large amount of water which will need to be drained it is expected to take several days before the road will be safe to open.
