UPDATE FROM THE LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

Local Emergency Management Committee will revert to weekly updates with the Committee now moving into recovery mode.

TESTING

The Committee is encouraging residents throughout the Central Darling Shire to continue getting tested if they feel any symptoms or suspect they may have been in an area or venue that has a potential COVID positive contact. Testing hubs will continue in all towns, or you can contact your local health service to book an appointment for a test.

TESTING RESULTS

Residents who are waiting for their results, particularly for return to work or travel requirements, are being urged to contact 1300 066 055 if they have not received their results more than 24 hours after testing. Residents without a phone can contact their local hospital, either themselves or through a family member. Hospital staff will contact the resident directly through a home visit and supply the results.

VACCINATION

The Royal Flying Doctor Service will continue to provide vaccination clinics throughout the Shire. For more information on the next clinic in your town, please contact your local health service.

STAY AT HOME ORDERS

Stay at home orders are current for Wilcannia and Menindee. This means residents in Wilcannia and Menindee should only leave home for essential purposes, which includes shopping and medical appointments (including testing and vaccination). Wilcannia and Menindee residents are not to have visitors to their homes, unless they are nominated as a carer or singles visitor, and are not to visit other people.  Genuine exercise is also an authorised reason for leaving home. Residents must wear a mask at all times when outside their homes.
