PAYING RATES DURING LOCKDOWN

Central Darling Shire ratepayers who may be caught up in lockdown conditions have a number of options to pay their rates either in full or instalments, despite Council offices being closed.

Lockdown conditions remain in the Central Darling Shire area which will force the continued closure of Council’s main offices in Wilcannia, Ivanhoe and Menindee.

Council recognises there can be genuine obstacles to paying rates and other Council bills, particularly when people are used to coming into the offices to make those payments.

Payment options are available on the rates notice received and include:

  • BPay through online or telephone banking. Your financial institution can assist with setting this up. BPay details are on your rates notice or water account.
  • In person at any Australia Post outlet (including Wilcannia)
  • By Credit Card Phone 131816
  • Through an electronic funds transfer, with Council’s details on your rates notice. Please ensure you add your account number or address to the remitter details.
  • Centrepay Residents on Centrelink payments can contact Centrelink to find out if they can set up a regular payment

Please contact Council on 08 8083 8900 if you need a copy of your rates notice.

Rate reminder letters are due to be sent out in the next week and ratepayers who may be having difficulty paying due to the lockdown can contact Council to discuss their situation in strictest confidence.
