Incoming Councillors
In 2025 three Councillors were elected for Central Darling Shire and three were appointed by the Minister for Local Government, Ron Hoenig, under the new Rural and Remote Council Model.
After more than a decade in Administration the first Council Meeting for Central Darling Shire, with councillors, will be held on Thursday 4 December 2025.
The meeting will start at 10.30 am at the Wilcannia Council Chambers. All welcome.
Following the election for the Council’s three wards the successful Councillors are:
• Peter Sullivan elected to Ward A.
• Max Bradley elected to Ward B.
• Daniel Fusi elected uncontested in Ward C.
The three appointed Councillors are:
• Robert (Bob) Stewart who has served as the Council Administrator since 2019 will be the Council Chairperson.
• Fiona Kelly, a proud Barkindji/Ngiyampaa woman and Executive Principal of Menindee Central School.
• The Hon. Barbara Perry who is a former Auburn Councillor and also served 13 years in NSW Parliament including being Minister for Local Government from 2008-2011.
The Councillors will officially take up their positions at the first Council meeting in December.
