Council Community Grants Application form
The Community Grants program for 2026/2027 is open for applications.
Central Darling Shire Councillors make the decision about whether a General Grant application is successful.
The Councillors consider General Grant applications at the Ordinary Council Meetings.
• There are two meetings remaining for this year. These will be held on 18 August and 17 November 2026.
• To be considered at the August meeting applications must be received by 5pm Friday 31 July.
• To be considered at the November meeting applications must be received by 5pm Friday 30 October.
• All applications must be submitted via the Council form which is available online and also from this website and Council offices.

Australia Day Community Events Grant Program
The Australia Day Council of NSW has advised that applications for the 2027 Australia Day Community Events Grant Program will open on Thursday 27 August 2026.
This National Australia Day Council program provides federal funding to support councils, government entities and eligible not-for-profit organisations to deliver hundreds of vibrant, inclusive and locally led celebrations - including BBQ's, morning tea's, smoking ceremonies, multicultural festivals, citizenship and award ceremonies, family fun days and Ambassador visits.
In 2026, over $1.56 million was awarded in NSW to 148 successful applicants including 29 Not For Profit community groups.
Local community groups who host Australia Day activities, to help them access federal funding, can apply directly.

• Applications open: Thursday 27 August 2026
• Applications close: Tuesday 22 September 2026

Grant Streams:
• Base Grant: $10,000
• Base Grant + Additional Grant: up to $15,000 for events featuring significant Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander elements
• Alternate Micro Grant: $2,000 for small communities/ groups who need assistance with small event needs ie venue hire, catering, signage, awards and plaques etc * Note, you can apply for an NADC grant even if you've received other grants and funding for your events.
